Job Summary:


The Financial Planning & Analysis Associate Director will play a critical role in guiding the financial strategy of the organization.

This position is responsible for supporting our efforts in financial forecasting, planning, and resource allocations, ensuring that our financial resources are optimally aligned with our strategic objectives.


Essential Functions:


  • Lead the development and execution of annual financial planning processes and financial forecasts under the guidance of the
    CFO.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and modeling to support strategic decisionmaking.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide accurate, timely and compelling financial recommendations for senior management and key stakeholders to facilitate informed decision making.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand programmatic financial needs and allocate resources effectively.
  • Manage the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including monthly financial statements and variance analyses.
  • Work closely with the
    CFO to establish and uphold financial policies and procedures that enhance operations and maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Support the annual audit process, including preparation and coordination with external auditors.
  • Prepare financial schedules for tax filings and audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Work closely with the
    CFO to select and implement financial tools and software, ensuring they meet the organization's needs and enhance financial operations efficiency.

  • Position Requirements

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing monthend close processes, with a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between financial reporting and bookkeeping.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Experience with financial cloud solutions implementation is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Indepth Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel; experience with Sage Intact is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and its financial management nuances is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and datadriven mindset with proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information in an understandable way.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software or specific financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, and advanced formulas)
  • Excellent leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Spanish is a plus.
