    The Director, Retail and Consumer Goods Product Marketing will work across the organization together with a passionate group of Retail and Consumer Goods leaders, and connect with customers and partners, to grow our business by meeting the needs of the market.

    There will be a focus on ensuring the success of a select set of strategic partnerships in delivering value to customers through product development and the associated product marketing.

    Additionally, this person will grow and nurture a team of product marketers in creating compelling messaging, storytelling and delivering marketing assets across events, web, social, blogs, and sales channels.


    This role will prioritize customers and technology, enjoy simplifying and getting to the essence of a product and its value, and love leading a team aligned to common goals.

    You work thoughtfully, with empathy and integrity and actively promote inclusivity and value diverse backgrounds, inputs, and opinions.

    Responsibilities


    • Develop a diverse team of product marketers, delivering success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring.
    • Craft compelling value propositions and creative ways to effectively communicate them.
    • Deliver our story directly, and via spokespeople to engage customers and influentials.
    • Develop relationships and ensure excellence in marketing planning and execution with priority partners where we have significant co-investment and co-development, ensuring return on investment for company.
    • Provide vision and framing for building and executing marketing plans and strategies to achieve goals, ensuring successful content and execution via all channels, at events, online, and via sales teams and partners.
    • Work with team to develop partnerships and orchestrate efforts (e.g., with Marketing, Partner, Engineering, Sales) to lead and deliver differentiated customer value and company growth.
    • Coach and provide strategic guidance to teams to define long-term vision and strategy for solutions in conjunction with Engineering, Sales and Business Planning, based on deep of understanding of customer needs, market and user research and trends and Microsoft's business goals and strategy.
    • Empower team to define success criteria and performance metrics, such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); tracks performance against success metrics and proactively acts on performance.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

    OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business

    OR equivalent experience.

    4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

    4+ years of retail or consumer goods industry experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business

    OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in business

    OR equivalent experience.

    6+ years direct people management experience.


    6+ years working with teams to develop partnerships and orchestrate efforts (e.g., with Marketing, Partner, Engineering, Sales) to lead and deliver differentiated customer value and company growth.


    6+ years building and executing marketing plans and strategies to achieve goals, ensuring successful content and execution via all channels, at events, online, and via sales teams and partners.

    Product Marketing M- The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year.

    There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.

    Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
