Type:
Grant-funded position through June 2024, with a possible extension through June 2025, depending on grant funding.


Pay:
$30 per hour, part-time schedule (see below for details)


Schedule:

Hybrid position. 3 days in-office, 2 days remote per week.

30 hours per week, not to exceed 60 hours per pay period (bi-monthly)

Regular hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional adjustments for monthly coalition meetings and events, typically 2-4 times per month

About Us:


Project Hope CA (PHCA) is a nonprofit organization in Pomona that serves high-opportunity individuals impacted by violence and incarceration through mentorship, re-entry services, and community engagement.

Founded in 2018 as a grassroots initiative by the executive director, co-founder, and a team of volunteers, our mission was to bridge the gap between residents in high-crime, limited-income neighborhoods, and their local community resources.


Position Overview:


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly coalition meetings for two CAP coalitions, ensuring active participation, constructive dialogue, and collaborative decisionmaking to address violence
  • Plan and execute 4 capacitybuilding training sessions per year (2 per coalition) to enhance the skills and knowledge of coalition members and attendees
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including communitybased organizations, government agencies, policymakers, and residents, to drive collaborative initiatives
  • Develop and implement project timelines to ensure timely completion of activities and milestones
  • Oversee minigrant process, providing support and technical assistance to grant recipients throughout the cycle
  • Compose monthly reports to track progress and outcomes of coalition activities, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Administer quarterly satisfaction surveys to evaluate coalition practices and drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate quarterly community initiatives aimed at addressing violence and promoting wellbeing, partnering with coalition members in the planning and implementation process
  • Conduct key stakeholder interviews to contribute to landscape analysis
  • Uphold values of inclusivity, equity, and communitydriven solutions in all endeavors
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, public administration, public health, social work, human services, or a similar field)
  • Previous experience in community organizing or development, and/or community outreach and engagement
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability in program coordination and project management
  • Familiarity with grant management and reporting processes
  • Proficiency in Canva or similar tools for designing promotional / marketing materials
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment
  • Passion for social justice, violence prevention, and community development
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of the Pomona/La Puente communities and resources/service providers
  • Previous experience in coalitionbuilding, training, and capacity building
  • Previous experience working in violence prevention or related fields, such as public safety, social services, or community organizing
  • Experience in leadership or management roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate people
  • Training or certification in conflict resolution, mediation, traumainformed care, and/or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Requirements:


  • Possession of a current driver's license, automobile, and auto liability insurance
  • Verification of Employment Eligibility and Background Clearance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
