    Job Description

    Job DescriptionAs a Design Engineer at PCM USA, INC your role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance production methods, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


    No Relocation. Must live in Houston Texas

    Key Responsibilities:

    Design & Drafting:

    • Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings of pump components and systems.
    • Develop innovative pump designs that meet performance specifications, including flow rate, pressure, and efficiency.
    • Standardize product offering to increase usage on common parts.
    • Designing pump skids
    • Converting metric drawings to imperial to suit local US market.

    Material Selection and Specifications:

    • Evaluate and select appropriate materials for pump components based on performance, durability, and cost considerations.
    • Create material specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of quality materials for production.

    Manufacturability and Process Optimization:

    • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses to optimize pump manufacturing processes.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop efficient production methods while maintaining product quality and consistency.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Collaborate with quality control teams to develop and implement quality assurance protocols for pump manufacturing.
    • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure pumps meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

    Documentation and Standards Compliance:

    • Maintain detailed documentation of pump designs, specifications, and test results.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems throughout the design and manufacturing processes.

    Cost Analysis and Budgeting:

    • Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to develop cost estimates for pump design projects.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising pump performance or reliability.

    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, manufacturing engineers, and sales teams, to ensure alignment with project goals.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting.
    • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanical principles.
    • Experience with pump design and development, preferably in industrial or food applications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
