Overview:
The Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology at Touro University is seeking a full time Clinical Director. The campus is located in Brooklyn, NY and is part of the School of Health Sciences. The program is approved by the New York State Education Department and is a CAA ASHA Certified program. It offers a 58 credit Master's degree program.

The Clinical Director of the program will manage all elements of the on-site Speech and Hearing Center as well as oversee all aspects of the graduate students' clinical education experience.

Responsibilities include program development, administration advisement, teaching and supervision.


Responsibilities:

Reports to the Program Director, with duties including but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Speech and Hearing Center including scheduling of evaluations and therapy sessions and file maintenance.
  • Oversee administrative functions of the Speech and Hearing Center including supplies, tests, materials and ordering.
  • Oversee intakes and providing therapy for clients in the Speech and Hearing Center.
  • Manage budget of Speech and Hearing Center.
  • Maintain quality control of student services to clients at Speech and Hearing Center.
  • Oversee maintenance of Speech and Hearing Center HIPAA compliance.
  • Oversee Infection Control guidelines of OSHA and CDC.
  • Oversee Clinic Administrative Assistant.
  • Address any student complaints not resolved directly by the clinic supervisor of associate.
  • Interview and hire supervisory staff as needed; oversee full and parttime supervisors.
  • Oversee responsibilities of Associate Director Speech and Hearing Center.
  • Maintain ASHA CFCC compliance regarding student eligibility for CCC-SLP.
  • Maintain CAA compliance of the Speech and Hearing Center for program accreditation. Prepare all areas and paperwork for audits or site visits.
  • Oversee currency of student medicals and malpractice insurance.
  • Monitor students' clinical education program plan and progress.
  • Obtain and maintain contracts for clinical affiliations.
  • Oversee responsibilities of Externship Coordinator with placement of students for at least two clinical experience (externships).
  • Oversee student's progress in placements and maintain contact with placement supervisors as needed.
  • Maintain student files.
  • Update Touro College Clinical Manual.
  • Teach Clinical Practicum courses: consult with other professors teaching courses.
  • Oversee student requirements for Teacher Certification with recommendation to NYS Education Department for teacher certification.
  • Participate in Departmental and Collegewide Committees.
  • Participate in Departmental activities including recruitment of students, interview of faculty, etc.
  • Responsible for oversight of students' completion of all clinical requirements for graduation.
  • Responsible for submission for NYS, Middle States and ASHA report as pertaining to clinic.
  • Oversight of electronic tracking such as Calipso and simulation system such as Simucase.
  • Respond to requests made by program director/ chair and administration.
  • Collaborate with faculty to maintain strong connection between academics and clinic.
  • Participate in professional research.

Qualifications:

Education/ Experience

  • Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Doctoral Degree Preferred)
  • ASHA Certification with a minimum of 35 years of experience
  • State Licensure

Maximum Salary:
USD $113,300.00/Yr


Minimum Salary:
USD $90,640.00/Yr.
