Our Wheeling, Illinois location is currently looking for a Transportation (Traffic) Manager to join the Crescent Brands family. In this role you will execute, direct, and coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments. This role reports to the Plant Manager.


Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing transportation logistics out of our IL and TN facilities

Negotiate contracts, prices, freight allowances, and accessorial charges with carrier and transportation providers

Monitor and audit transportation invoices for accuracy and ensure quality of deliveries

Manage Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, and provide coverage when needed

Develop and implement strategic transportation plans and processes

Ensure that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved

File freight claims against the responsible carrier whenever issues arise

Establish carrier scoreboard to properly rate and assess carrier performance

Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and cost-savings

Lead the development, implementation, and review of transportation policies and procedures

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

Requirements and Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Shipping & Receiving management

Bachelors or Associates degree in Logistics / Supply Chain preferred

JDE Edwards ERP experience preferred

TMS experience preferred

Strong knowledge of logistics processes, systems, and regulations

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams

Able to work independently and in a team environment

Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
