    Position Overview

    We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Docketing Clerk. The Docketing Clerk plays a crucial role in our firm, ensuring the accurate and timely management of all legal deadlines and filings related to intellectual property matters. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining organizational excellence.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain and manage the firm's docketing system to accurately track all deadlines, filings, and other critical dates related to intellectual property matters.
    • Review and respond promptly to a high volume of emails and inquiries related to docketing and deadlines, providing clear, concise, and accurate information to lawyers and paralegals.
    • Review and process incoming correspondence, including patent and trademark office actions, notices, and communications from clients and government agencies.
    • Enter a high volume of data into the docketing system, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all information.
    • Monitor deadlines and proactively communicate with attorneys and other staff members regarding upcoming deadlines and tasks.
    • Prepare and distribute docket reports to attorneys and other users as needed.
    • Assist with administrative tasks, such as file maintenance, document preparation, and other duties as assigned.
    • Acquire proficiency in software tools used by the firm.
    • Participate in firm-wide projects and initiatives (e.g., Culture Committee, 1+1 Charitable Giving Committee).

    Qualifications

    • Efficient task prioritization and deadline management in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exceptional proofreading skills, reading comprehension, and attention to detail.
    • Fast learner with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • Capacity to produce a high volume of error-free work.
    • Reliable and takes ownership of assigned work.
    • Strong customer service and excellent verbal & written communication skills to work effectively with clients and personnel at all levels within the firm.
    • Works well both independently and collaboratively, able to multitask as needed.
    • Proactive approach to fulfilling firm goals.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and willingness to learn PATTSY docketing software and iManage file management software.
    • Previous experience in the legal industry (preferably in intellectual property or related fields) is a plus.
