About the Role:
We are looking for a Quality Leader to ensure that quality standards are met and to be accountable for the overall performance of the quality processes within the plant.
A significant focus for this leader will be developing the quality team, improving quality processes, and ensuring quality performance across multiple business units (Automotive, Electronics, Semiconductor Systems, Industrial).
This associate will also interact and partner with a global team of quality leaders.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team of associates supporting the quality management system, quality assurance, and quality engineering; provide coaching on overall development with emphasis on quality functional excellence
- Define clear objectives and priorities of the local quality team in alignment with broader strategies, and ensure an effective organization, system, processes, and infrastructure to meet these objectives
- Own and drive improvement in quality metrics at the plant level
- Provide guidance, coaching, and influence cross functionally on quality related topics
- Participate in the Plant Leadership Team to ensure process ownership for the qualityowned process groups (Nonconformance/CAPA, Document & Records, Change Control, and Audits)
- Assure that products offered and supplied to customers conform to all contractual quality, technical, and customer requirements
- Continuously improve the quality system and ensure certification to applicable quality standards (IATF 16949 and ISO 9001) is maintained
- Work on project teams supporting the Gore Performance Solutions quality initiatives by initiating, driving, and managing effective change
- Maintain external awareness of industry best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related degree
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a quality, engineering, or operations role with increasing levels of responsibility and a demonstrated passion for quality
- Experience with Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance/Quality Management work activities
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the ISO9001 (or comparable standards) with a demonstrated strength in Management of Change, Risk Assessment, and Corrective Actions
- Excellent prioritization, planning, and organizational skills with proven track record of consistently finishing projects, producing results, and driving sustainment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully gain followership, lead teams, and enact organizational change
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
- Ability to travel 5% to 10% with some international travel
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in IATF16949 quality systems strongly preferred
