Veterinary Assistant - Sacramento, United States - Sactown Vet

Description

Sactown Vet is a brand-new, full-service small animal hospital located in the heart of Midtown. We are looking for a veterinary assistant to serve as the left hand for one of our awesome doctors.

A Sactown Vet assistant is responsible for keeping the easily-distracted veterinarian on task (how many times do you have to tell a vet that the labwork needs to be reviewed before they actually do it?).

Additionally, the assistant will need to:
- maintain patient records
- create estimates
- fill medications
- ensure patient flow through the hospital is smooth
- assist in completion of consent forms for anesthesia and drop-off appointments
- communicate veterinarian recommendations effectively to clients
- assist with technical skills (venipuncture, restraint for radiographs, etc)

Additionally, the assistant must be able to multi-task, be efficient, maintain excellent communication with both other team members and clients, and have initiative (you are managing a veterinarian after all).
