The Role:


As a Local Field Sales Marketer at Chicago Triathlon, your primary objective will be to immerse yourself in the local communities of Chicago to raise awareness of our Triathlon events.

You will play a vital role in driving event participation, building strong relationships with local organizations, and executing targeted marketing strategies to boost event attendance and community engagement.


Key Responsibilities:


Community Engagement:


  • Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, community centers, fitness clubs, Triclubs and other relevant organizations.
  • Attend local events, fairs, and expos to interact with potential participants, distribute marketing materials, and promote upcoming triathlon events.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to engage with individuals, answer questions, and showcase the benefits of participating in our events.

Local Marketing:


  • Collaborate with the marketing team to tailor marketing campaigns to the local audience, ensuring messaging resonates with the unique characteristics of each city.
  • Work with the marketing team to implement creative and effective local marketing initiatives, including flyers, posters, social media campaigns, partnerships with local media outlets, staffing booths at local events.

Event Promotion:


  • Strategically plan and execute preevent promotional activities to generate excitement and anticipation for upcoming triathlon event.
  • Identify key local influencers, bloggers, and athletes to engage with and amplify event promotion efforts.

Partnerships:


  • Work with our commercial team to Identify potential sponsors, partners, and collaborators within the local community to enhance event visibility and reach.
  • Pass potential partners over to our commercial team to craft partnership agreements and manage relationships to ensure mutual benefits.

Data Collection and Reporting:


  • Gather insights from interactions with the community, providing feedback to the marketing team to refine strategies.
  • Maintain records of engagement, attendance, and promotional activities, reporting on the effectiveness of different initiatives.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in sales, marketing, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and outdoor events and activities, with a genuine interest in triathlon events.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of individuals and organizations.
  • Selfmotivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Local knowledge and connections within the community (New York City, Malibu, or Chicago) are a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and social media platforms for marketing purposes.

Compensation:


  • Competitive hourly rate $15$18 + Incentives

Time Commitment

  • 610 hours/week throughout the offseason.
hours/week during peak season.

  • Early mornings, nights, and weekends will occasionally be required.
