    This is a non-benefited, per diem position with 10-hour varied shifts at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Schedule is a minimum of 4 shifts per month.

    The Clinical Pharmacist I will work in the main pharmacy at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, serving central and downtown San Diego.

    With the longest tenured Level I Trauma Center in the county, the team at Mercy San Diego thrives in a fast-paced environment and prides itself in its efficiency and teamwork in providing comprehensive care.


    Responsibilities include:

    • Primarily operation focused centrally based; participates in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and on approved shifts.
    • Documents the care provided to patients.
    • Supervises the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
    • Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
    • Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
    • Demonstrates ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
    • Demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescription authorities as approved by the medical staff.

    Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

    • BS Pharmacy or Pharm.
    D. Degree


    Required Certification/Registration:

    • California Pharmacist License
    • AHA BLS
    • ACLS certification required prior to being trained to respond to codes, can be obtained within 6 months of hire

    Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

    • PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area.

    Position Pay Range:
    $75.24-$94.06/hour
