Job Summary:
As part of the team, you will assist in the treatment and care management of patients with clinical requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing guidance to patients and/or caregivers on the correct usage of equipment and respiratory care procedures
- Ensuring that patients and/or caregivers can operate and maintain equipment effectively
- Conducting clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry, and vital signs
- Performing routine patient follow-up based on individual needs
- Operating various respiratory care equipment including oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, and ventilation
- Inspecting and testing equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Maintaining detailed patient records and documentation
- Collaborating with referring physicians on patient treatment and care plans
- Participating in ongoing education and training sessions for respiratory patient care
- Assisting with patient scheduling when necessary
- Performing any other required duties
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Possession of a valid driver's license and auto insurance as per Apria policy
- Registration or certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current RCP license in the state of practice
- Current CPR Certification
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Effective multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills in various formats
- Competency in using electronic devices and Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of related experience
Physical Demands:
While on the job, you may be required to handle equipment, reach, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, and use various tools and controls. Travel by plane and automobile may be necessary, with potential lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
The work environment may vary, with exposure to different conditions such as dust, fumes, odors, and temperature fluctuations. You may also be required to operate a motor vehicle during various weather conditions and travel off-site.
