    Title: Data Architect
    Location: SFO, CA / NYC, NY
    Type-Full Time

    Job Description:

    • Key Responsibilities:
      • Data Architecture Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a robust and scalable data architecture that aligns with the business objectives. Ensure that the architecture accommodates the specific requirements and features of Sybase IQ.
      • Database Modeling: Develop and maintain data models, schema designs, and database objects in Sybase IQ to optimize data storage and retrieval. Implement best practices for data modeling and database design.
      • Data Integration: Design and oversee the integration of data from various sources into the Sybase IQ database. Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the integration process.
      • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of Sybase IQ databases. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implement indexing strategies, and tune queries for efficiency.
      • Data Security: Implement and maintain robust data security and access controls to protect sensitive information. Stay up-to-date with data security best practices and compliance requirements.
      • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, compliance, and data lineage. Define data standards and practices.
      • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, data flows, and data models to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development.
      • Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure that the data architecture meets business needs.
    • Qualifications:
      • Proven experience as a Data Architect with a focus on Sybase IQ development (ideal if have used open client and open server)
      • Knowledge/Experience with Sybase as a db
      • In-depth knowledge of Sybase IQ architecture, design principles, and best practices.
      • Strong proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
      • Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools.
      • Data engineering set:
        • SQL
        • ETL/ELT
        • NoSQL
        • Data Pipelines using modern tools, methods and platforms.
      • Experience w/ Scripting language(s) Shell or Perl Scripting
      • 3GL skills (e.g., C or C++) preferred modes for open client/open server programming
    Relevant certifications (e.g., Sybase ASE/IQ certifications) are a plus.
