Job Summary
This position is responsible for the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for the Consolidated Service Center's distribution operations.

Oversees receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, customer service and transportation operations of a 300,000 square feet warehouse that distributes approximately $700M in medical supplies across the Memorial Hermann Health system.

Establishes measurement metrics and sets performance targets for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and regulatory guidelines. Implements data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations and develop optimization strategies. Ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. Responsible for ensuring that relevant key financial performance indicators are met, and operational goals are achieved. Responsible for motivating, developing, and leading a team of approximately 65 employees, including 3 managers. Reports to the AVP, Consolidated Service Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business management, logistics, engineering, finance, economics, or related field preferred


Licenses/Certifications:
Lean/Six sigma certification a plus.


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:


  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in a distribution warehouse environment required. In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) progressive leadership experience in a distribution warehouse environment. Distribution center start up experience highly desired.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience overseeing receiving, order fulfillment, custom service and transportation activities associated with a distribution center.
  • Distribution/ operational leadership experience with a strong track record of achieving excellent results in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to dig into details when needed for problem resolution.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to build, motivate and influence cohesive teams.
  • Customer service focused with demonstrated ability to build relationships, negotiate, influence, collaborate, and create winwin situations with multiple stakeholders across various functions and levels.
  • Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement in handling difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highenergy environment with time sensitive projects and processes

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Partners with the AVP, CSC in the development and execution of the longterm CSC strategy
  • Oversees operational and site needs, defines warehouse policies and procedures, identify system needs, and partner with internal team to drive operational excellence.
  • Ensures that the distribution center appropriately manages all aspects of their operation including the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies.
  • Ensures customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped according to service level requirements with a priority on order quality.
  • Partner in the development of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develops and implements key performance indicators, policies, and procedures to achieve organizational goals
  • Implements datadriven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies and develop optimization strategies to achieve organizational goals.
