is seeking a Recruiter for it's Orange County educational programs, including multiple school and preschool age programs for students with disabilities.

The Recruiter is responsible for the full life cycle of staffing within their designated programs, assisting in job analysis and staffing level needs.

The recruiter will obtain approval/maintain all hire requests, assist with the writing of internal and external employment advertisements, conduct pre-employment screening, interviewing where needed, and reference checking.

Requires excellent analytical, organizational and computer skills.

This role will assist the Human Resources Manager and program administrators with strategic workforce planning, from the assessment of job responsibilities, employee capabilities and development to familiarity with the external labor job market.


Pay:
$24-$26 per hour


Other:
This is a full time, 40 hour per week position, Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am

  • 4:30pm. This position is based out of the New Windsor school program with the occasional flexibility to work remotely. This position must be able to commute to other locations in the Orange and Dutchess county areas based on business needs.

Responsibilities:


  • Will review departmental needs with managers, assisting with staffing level analysis to ensure optimal coverage, and obtain approvals on hire requisitions.
  • Creates internal and external employment advertisements, maintains job postings on employment websites.
  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting local community services, colleges, employment agencies, media and internet sites.
  • Attends job fairs and other employment related events.
  • Maintains database of applicant information and outcomes.
  • Participates in interviews as needed.
  • Corresponds with applicants, providing status and sending postinterview correspondence.
  • Determine salaries in accordance with the base wages in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the applicable formula per our compensation strategy.
  • Conducts/participates in salary reviews and compensation strategy changes.
  • Conduct job analysis/assessment of job responsibilities as needed.
  • Coordinates and completes preemployment requirements (background checks, health screening requirements, etc.) along with the the onboarding process, ensuring employment requirements are met to maintain compliance.
  • May attend program departmental meetings to familiarize staff with various policies and procedures.
  • May act as HR representative to various department staff/liaison committee meetings to facilitate effective interpersonal communication among employees and management.
  • May prepare reports and analyze data as directed.
  • Maintains working relationship with union officers and adheres to terms of labor contract, ensuring compliance with departments by implementing policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
  • Assists the Human Resources Manager with strategic workforce planning and agency wide initiatives.
  • May assist with agency training initiatives where qualified.
  • Represents Abilities First, Inc. in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all goals and skillsets required, on which performance will be evaluated.
  • Ensures all trainings and certifications required are current, and seeks further support and training where needed.
  • Performs appropriate jobrelated activities as required by the immediate supervisor or as circumstances warrant.
  • Ensures that all communication is handled appropriately and confidentially.
  • Follows all agency policy and procedures and demonstrates continuous regard to personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Adheres to the agency Code of Ethical and Legal Behavior which requires all employees, consultants, board members, volunteers, and affiliates to perform their responsibilities according to ethical and legal standards with honesty, integrity, fairness, good faith, and respect for others and the law.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred ; a combination of education and experience may be acceptable
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires excellent analytical, organizational and computer skills, with the ability to work with strict confiden
