Working Conditions


Employees of CalVet will be required to follow state or county public health guidelines and requirements enacted in accordance with infectious disease prevention and control.

Special Requirements

  • Successful completion of a live scan and a preemployment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.

Vaccination:


  • In accordance with current California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Orders and/or Department of Social Serivces (DSS) PINs, workers in various health care settings, including those who work at Veterans Homes, must be vaccinated against COVID19, including the booster vaccine, or submit a delination form.

Mandatory Testing:


  • If selected for hire, you may provide proof of vaccination to the hiring supervisor or designee during the preemployment process. Vaccination information will not affect hiring selections, however, start dates will not be negotiated until proof of vaccination or exemption requirements are submitted timely and approved.

Face Coverings:


  • While working onsite at any CalVet facility, employees must follow current face covering guidance as issued by the California Department of Public Health. Employees working in a county where the local health jurisdiction has issued a stricter public health ordinance must comply with the local order.
