The Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program keeps pregnant and breastfeeding women and kids under 5 healthy by providing healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and other services, free of charge, to Massachusetts families who qualify.


DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:


CHA's Health Improvement Team (HIT) works together with healthcare providers, residents, community based organizations and city leadership to assess health status, determine priorities, build action plans and provide leadership around health issues that impact the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, foods and nutrition, or nutrition education OR Master's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, or food and nutrition if Bachelor's degree is not in the related field.

Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists, desired.

One year's experience in clinical or community nutrition, preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities.
Good communications skills.
Sensitivity to the needs of the participant population.
Availability to work at multiple WIC sites and during program clinic hours as needed.
Brazilian/Portuguese speaker, preferred.
