- Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments
- Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
- Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics
- Assist with preparation of federal and state administrative filings
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Trial and arbitration preparation; preparation and management of trial exhibits and other trial related assistance.
- Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from a variety of sources, including but not limited to, Lexis and Westlaw research
- Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Help with voir-dire, jury selection and witness preparation
- Assist with case settlements
- Address client case status inquiries, including steps in process remaining, processing times, and appointment issues
- Ensure compliance to all company Policies, Procedures, and expectations
- Proven 4+ years working experience in Personal Injury law as a Litigation Paralegal
- Experience working with federal/state court litigation cases from onset to trial phase.
- Familiarity with the rules of federal and state procedures
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
- Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, Dictaphone,
- Knowledge of federal filing systems
- Proficiency in English, Bilingual a Plus
- Working knowledge of case management software
- Strong sense of confidentiality and ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work under pressure/deadlines and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; self-motivated
- Outstanding time-management and typing skills
- Ability to work autonomously while highly focused and detailed-oriented with exceptional analytical skills
