- Preparing legal documents such as applications, registrations, renewals, notices, affidavits of use, Information Disclosure Statements, revocations, appointments, and declarations of use.
- Performing research, investigating facts, and analyzing law sources, and preparing cases accordingly.
- Filing legal documents with the USPTO and foreign registration offices electronically.
- Understanding and following established IP practice group procedures and record-keeping policies.
- Communicating directly with clients regarding patent and trademark matters.
- Utilizing CPi Docketing software and reviewing CPi-produced reports.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for meetings, hearings or mediations.
- Reviewing or proofreading documents attorneys have prepared.
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree with a major in paralegal studies.
- 3+ years of Intellectual Property Paralegal experience.
- A combination of trademark and patent experience is preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience with docketing software.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects with time constraints and interruptions.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work within established processes and procedures.
- Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Excellent client service skills, both with internal and external clients.
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
