Automation Engineering Manager

Job Summary

*This position will be fully remote, but the candidate must be willing to travel as needed up to 75% or more of the time. *

This position is a UPS Customer Solutions position responsible for working with vendors to scope, design, and implement warehouse automation solutions within shipping and distribution facilities for UPS customer facilities. She/he collaborates with warehouse engineers on conceptual Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and automation designs, then works with various vendors to move the conceptual design to a proposal. Finally, the incumbent works with the selected vendor to implement the design within the customer's facility.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with warehouse engineers on conceptual designs
Works closely with customers and vendors to finalize system design
Works closely with UPS sales resources to present proposals to customers and obtain a signature on Statement of Work (SOW)
Selects appropriate vendor based on capabilities and other selection criteria
Works with selected vendor to transform conceptual designs into a customer proposal
Manages the implementation of the design within the customer facility
Oversees vendors and timelines with the assistance of the assigned project manager
Responsible for holding vendors accountable to the statement of work for each respective project
Responsible for the overall success of the project from end to end
Potential for extensive travel up to 75% or more

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent
Experience implementing logistics and technology-based solutions
Experience implementing warehouse automation systems
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience working with vendors

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,440/year to $158,340/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
