This role involves overseeing and evolving production systems that utilize AI across the clinical data platform. As a blend of technical leadership and people management, you will be deeply involved in coding, while also mentoring engineers and ensuring system reliability. Your contributions will directly impact how clinical data workflows are managed, enhancing both speed and quality of AI-powered systems in a regulated environment.

Accountabilities

Write and ship production code weekly alongside your team.
Drive a culture of shipping speed and continuous improvement.
Build internal tools for visibility into AI decision-making.
Collaborate with an AI engineer to enhance prediction model quality.
Lead incident response and postmortems for team-owned systems.
Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural decisions.
Establish and maintain system reliability standards.

Requirements

7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in management.
Experience with production systems handling large volumes of data.
Demonstrated ability to build and operate AI-powered systems.
Experience in creating tools for non-technical or regulated users.
Comfortable making high-stakes technical decisions with accountability.
Adaptability in ambiguous environments with evolving requirements.
Strong opinions on system observability and operational excellence.
Experience integrating AI into engineering practices and workflows.
