Summary/Objective:


The Vice President of Accounting will direct and oversee the financial activities of the corporation, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth.


_Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  • Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.

_Duties/Responsibilities:

_:


  • Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the organization's fiscal function and performance
  • Participating in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner
  • Evaluating and advising on the impact of longrange planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory actions
  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Developing credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities
  • Enhancing and/or developing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and organization's effectiveness
  • Establishing credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
  • Improving the budgeting process through education of managers on financial issues impacting their budgets
  • Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decisionmaking issues affecting the organization (e.g., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, and/or mergers)
  • Optimizing the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position
  • Developing a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs
  • Advising from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Company may enter
  • Evaluating the departmental structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on individual opportunities where possible
  • Performs other workrelated duties as assigned

_Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree (MA) or equivalent or 1015 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experienced leader and financial executive with appropriate industry experience
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
