DESCRIPTION:

Quality Technician

Phoenix, Arizona - Performs a variety of operations to assist quality control judgments for in-process production, finished products and incoming raw materials under supervision of Quality Assurance Laboratory Supervisor.

This position requests 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions

Keeps current with the production schedule in the Lab
Closes out batches from the QC Lab through SAP computer system, and updates Pass/Fail status
Releases or corrects incoming lots from production in a timely manner
Maintains and updates product folders within the QC Lab
Processes color corrections and assists QA Techs as necessary
Builds samples, including mixing them, when needed to assist in Color Matching
Works on special projects assign by supervisor
Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment per established procedures
Provides expertise and direction to QA Techs for effective execution of processes and procedures
Keeps in communication with sales on needed Color matches
Enters tars and processes TARS with customer due date in mind
Runs samples as needed by Customers
Completes and maintains all required system inputs/transactions. Responsible for data integrity.
Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods.
Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

35 years related experience and or/ training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior experience with color adjustments, formulating, sample generation and/or color knowledge is preferred
Prior experience working in Laboratory environment is preferred
US High School diploma, GED equivalency or relevant experience
Adherence to health and safety regulations (i.e. constant use of protective gear)
Flexibility in shifts is a plus

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Be able to lift, push or pull up to 200 lbs. with the aid of equipment.
Be able to stand/walk for 10hour shift.
Able to walk, see, and hear sufficiently to perform assigned tasks.
Be able to communicate orally and in writing.
The employee must be able to read at a level of comprehension sufficient to meet job requirements.
