Duties:


  • You will determine and define areas that analytic rigor can be applied to inform senior leaders decisions.
  • You will identify variables required and bestsuited methodology for analysis, employing innovative approaches for new and complex problemsets.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, theories and the employment of mathematical, statistical, risk analysis, and data visualization data tools is also required.

Qualifications:


Basic Requirements:

Degree: in operations research;


Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.


Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • 1. Experience utilizing knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS). 3. Experience in analysis and evaluation of programs to include responsibilities in assessing resource requirements and measuring current effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • 4. Experience in organizing and leading teams to solve complex problems as it relates to operations research and system analysis of programs.
  • 5. Experience in effectively communicating (orally and written) to obtain data, relay issues, and articulate recommendations to senior military leaders in the Services, and DoD and DON senior civilian representatives. General Schedule Qualification Standards )
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Evaluation of Education:


Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science.


Additional information:


The incumbent is responsible for analysis and evaluation of Navy Medicine related programs within Naval Medical Forces Atlantic's Type Commander (TYCOM) responsibilities, including assessment of resource requirements and measuring current effectiveness and efficiency within the area of responsibility (AOR).

Master's degree or PhD preferred.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.


Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).

A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ).
