Overview:
**Operations Supervisor

  • Los Angeles, CA**As an Operations Supervisor, a key member of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen operations team, you will support the General Manager in our highproductivity Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).

Job Description:


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Oversee operations at Wallenius Wilhelmsen's Vehicle Processing Center.
  • Lead continuous process improvements to achieve a safe and cost efficient work environment that meets performance targets.
  • Responsible for promoting and helping develop a culture of a safe work environment for all employees and visitors through compliance with the WWS Health & Safety.
  • Within your area of responsibility, investigate any accidents, incidents and/or near misses, to ensure actions are taken to prevent future incidents. Lessons learned are documented, shared and all reporting is completed timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of current practices.
  • Coordinate with leads to ensure organization of daily work for the crew.
  • Foster an environment of positive employee relations and employee involvement.
  • Perform corrective actions if needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Willing to work long hours and weekends as required.
  • Must be able to identify and anticipate operational needs as well as make recommendations for implementations.

Job Requirements:

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 3 or more years supervisory experience in manufacturing or logistics
  • Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
  • Solid understanding of revenue drivers and efficiency standards to deliver positive financial results
  • Familiarity leading continuous process improvements
  • Experience with SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, and 5S

  • 12 years' experience in an automotive or distribution environment
  • A passion to develop, motivate, and coach employees for their professional development, and future growth of the company.
  • Inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels
