Description

Our Team
The Bloomberg Connects user experience (UX) team is a core pillar of the product team. Working as a cohesive unit, UX consolidates expertise from different disciplines to deliver best-in-class, evidence-based designs, fast. This requires close collaboration between IX design, VX design, research, and UI/documentation writing.

In many cases, all disciplines are involved in feature development from the very beginning, so knowledge is widely shared and no one is too far downstream from their colleagues.

The Bloomberg Connects UX writers are fully integrated into this UX team and the larger product framework for work planning, transparency, and peer review.

The Role

We're looking for a UX writer to create self-serve documentation and contextual user assistance materials that support Bloomberg Connects' cultural partners and app users (museum visitors).

You'll use a combination of proprietary and third-party tools to prepare accessible, engaging, and value-driven text and video content that educates your audience and makes it easy for them to complete their tasks.

You'll work closely with one other writer and sit within the UX team. You will report to the UX lead.

We'll trust you to:

  • Produce a broad range of deliverables, including stepbystep user guides, inapp contextual help, UI descriptions and labels, release notifications, and training videos.
  • Take ownership of writingbased projects, building relationships with interdisciplinary colleagues to provide cohesive user assistance solutions.
  • Develop and adhere to voice, tone, and style guidelines.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to refine content.
  • Manage a high volume of projects to keep pace with shifting release schedules and business priorities.
  • Generate creative ideas to evolve our styles, processes, and tools.

You'll need to have:

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, UX writing, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent writing skills for an enduser audience, with flexibility to shift between styles.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience in managing and organizing multiple projects with variable timelines.
  • A collaborative, "can do" attitude with the ability to make a case for your ideas while leaving space for feedback and compromise.
  • A growth mindset, eagerness to learn, and the ability to feel comfortable in a nimble, everevolving team.
  • A track record of success interacting with all levels of staff and management, including customers, product managers, engineers, and senior management.
  • Experience with video editing software and process.

We'd love to see:

  • Experience with common design tools like Figma.
  • A passion for expanding access to arts and culture.
  • Experience in localization management and writing for global audiences.
  • Familiarity with common design principles and usercentered approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in UI writing.
  • Demonstrated initiative in innovating and implementing workflow, process, and technical solutions.
  • Editing experience.
