    The Misericordia University College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Social Work for the academic year. This will be a non-tenure-track ten-month position.

    Misericordia University offers a bachelor of social work degree with specializations in gerontology, addictions, and patient navigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses such as human development, social work practice, field education seminar and fulfil the role of Director of Field Education. Candidates should indicate any experience and/or leadership that contribute to this goal.

    Qualified applicants will have an MSW from a CSWE accredited program. Two years of post MSW experience is required with teaching experience highly desired.

    The University's Social Work Program evolved from the Religious Sisters of Mercy's own call to compassionate service through the ministries of teaching and healing. All candidates must be open to supporting the values of the Sisters of Mercy: Mercy, Service, Justice, and Hospitality. Initially accredited by the Council on Social Work Education in 1975, accredited status has been reaffirmed four times with current accreditation through February 2027.

    Misericordia University, celebrating its centennial in 2024 and founded by the Sisters of Mercy, offers baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees and is located adjacent to the Pocono Mountains region of Northeastern Pennsylvania, approximately 2 hours from New York City and Philadelphia.
