**Pest Control Manager - Freeport, TX**
The Pest Control Manager is responsible for the planning, operation, and execution of the facilitys pest control program. The Pest Control Manager reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. The expected results for this position are to 1) Ensure the safe and lawful application of fumigants and pesticides 2) Reduce customer complaints and regulatory infractions related to pests such as birds, rodents, stored and non-stored grain insects 3) Reduce spending on pest control through continuous improvement principles.
**Major Responsibilities:**
Support and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs
Plan and execute daily, short-term, and long-term fumigation, pesticide application, and pest control and exclusion activities. The Pest Control Manager is responsible for scheduling, time-keeping, discipline, and general supervisory activities of the Pest Control Team, including Certified Applicators and Fumigation Helpers.
Application of restricted-use fumigants and pesticides. This position will be expected to perform activities typical of a Certified Applicator, such as fumigation of silos, tarped product, product in trailers, and facility space fumigations and pesticide applications.
Conduct routine facility inspections related to Pest Control and other Food Safety aspects. Pest Control Manager is responsible to summarize, report, and ultimately address any findings.
Schedule and conduct classroom and hands-on training of Certified Applicators, Fumigation Helpers, and other Riviana employees (both permanent and temporary) on Safety, Food Safety, and Pest Identification. This position is also responsible for identifying when refresher training is needed.
Responsible for creating, issuing and revising documentation related to Pest Control activities (usage logs, fumigation management plans, monitoring logs) and for reviewing completion of this documentation on a daily basis. This includes tracking the information of these documents in an electronic database such as Excel.
Make recommendations to Plant Management for pest control issues and the pest control program.
Responsible to purchase and maintain the function and calibration of gas monitoring meters and other essential equipment such as fans/blowers, shoot lines, and pesticide dispensing equipment.
Maintain the availability and usability of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators.
Be assertive, self-motivated and dependable .
Must be able to work OT and weekends occasionally.

CPFR Experience
Knowledge of 2 Tier and REMIX
DPF experience a plus
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power point)
Ability to collect and analyze data
Ability to create reports using a variety of different sources
Excellent customer service skills
Must be a self-starter with strong desire to achieve positive outcomes
Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments towards collective best outcome
**Education:**
Bachelors of Science Degree required, preferred in the Science field.
**Experience:**
Must have hands-on fumigation and pesticide application work experience
**Certificates/Licenses**
Certified applicator license, issued by the Texas Dept. of Agriculture (TDA) in one of the relevant usage classifications required within six (6) months of hire.
Qualify for a TWIC card.
Texas drivers license or acquire within 1 month from hire date.
