    ASAP Prevention Coordinator Manager with Security Clearance - joint base lewis-mcchord, United States - Department of Defense

    Description
    Duties * Oversees the ASAP Prevention programs.

    Serves as principal advisor to the ADCO on matters related substance use and abuse and its effects on readiness and oversees the Installation's ASAP Prevention Program * Assures coordination and integration of ASAP Prevention and local programs in an effort to enhance ASAP Prevention Program effectiveness.

    * Ensures appropriate substance abuse prevention education is available to the serviced population, in coordination with tenant, Civilian Personnel Advisory Center, subject-matter experts, legal and, and others as required * Evaluates all documentation related to drug testing/alcohol testing to confirm proper procedures.

    Reviews charts and statistics for the ASAP drug testing program * Coordinates and submits statistical reports as required by HQ IMCOM and provides drug testing related statistical data to the ADCO.

    * Develops local policies, precedents, and procedures.

    * Ensures annual suicide prevention training is available; assure coordination of installation train-the-trainer and gatekeeper training for the suicide awareness/intervention * Interprets, disseminates, and assures proper implementation of DA, OPM, ACSAP, IMCOM, and other policy and authoritative guidelines Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * Secret security clearance required. * One year supervisory probationary period may be required

    Basic Requirement for ASAP Prevention Coordination Manager:
    A


    Degree:

    Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Social Work, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs.

    OR B.


    Combination of Education and Experience:
    A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field


    OR C Experience:

    Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

    In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

    Specialized Experience:

    One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with managing substance use and/or abuse programs, such as Employee Assistance Program, Risk Reduction Programs, or Prevention Coordination Programs; preparing statistical reports on assigned programs; reviewing completed work of team members or subordinates for technical accuracy; executing an organizational budget.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

    Grade Requirement:
    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11)

    If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
