JOB SUMMARY


A Specialized Cycling Specialist/Retul Fitter will be working directly with riders, as a host, mentor, brand advocate, and customer service ace, to identify and locate the goods, services, and experiences needed to provide solutions quickly and frictionless to keep them riding longer and better.

They will utilize existing RETUL fitting systems to advise our riders in bike selection, proper frame size, handlebar width, stack and reach, saddle selection, saddle height, saddle fore/aft, leg extension, cleat placement, and proper cleat shims and foot beds use.

This role will reward diligent, detailed, and focused bike-fans who share our core belief that bikes change lives.

Primarily focusing within our retail point of sale, database software, and RETUL fitting software, this role will require a broad working knowledge of Specialized road, mountain, time trial, and hybrid bikes, as well as the mechanical ability to change stems, handlebars, wrap bars, adjust shifters, adjust suspension, and secure bikes in trainers.

Moreover, the process of meeting our riders wherever they are and delivering results faster, requires working closely with the location managers and technicians, to execute physical delivery and hand-off of goods and services from the store to the riders' desired locations and any associated product education to deliver a experience that is transformative, locally-authentic, inclusive, and ride-focused.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Deliver world class riderservice that ensures ongoing sales and high levels of rider satisfaction
  • Meeting and making a connection with riders, asking questions, and listening to riders' needs, then giving options and advice on meeting those needs
  • Inspiring the rider to buy, celebrating the purchase, and creating a lasting positive impression of the specialist, Specialized, and the purchase process
  • Delivering transformative, inclusive, ridefocused, locally authentic, and collaborative experiences for staff and riders alike inside and out, c/o the Specialized Retail Way
  • Assist in ensuring that visual merchandising standards are met and maintained, restocking as needed, ensuring product presentation areas remain clean and organized
  • General cleanliness standards are set at store opening, maintained throughout the day, and reset at close of business, including light janitorial duty
  • Use company literature/resources and available training to stay current on product features
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Understanding and clearly communicating systems relating to handlebar width, stack/reach, saddle selection, saddle height, saddle fore/aft, leg extension, cleat placement, cleat shims, and foot beds to improve comfort & performance
  • Conduct a thorough physical and structural preassessment to determine flexibility and compromised movement, complete necessary adjustments to the rider's bike based on prefit analysis, observations on the bike, and data gathered from motion analysis equipment, and finally, clearly communicate and provide documentation of work performed for the rider; including measurements and equipment changes that will assist the customer with future purchases, adjustments, and equipment needs.

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand
  • A current or former retail employee with 13 years of experience preferred
  • Excellent communication with the ability to effectively interact with riders and team members
  • Must be able to work as business dictates which includes weekends
  • Ability to stand for extensive time periods; while occasionally walking, kneeling, or reaching
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs. or more and use proper lifting skills
  • Prior Retul certification preferred
