- Performs selected nursing and administrative duties and assists the physician as part of the clinical care team.
- Assists physicians with patient visits, including rooming and interviewing patients, recording vital signs, enters information in patient's electronic medical record, obtains blood or urine sample for analysis, and assists with procedures as needed.
- Observes, records and reports changes in patient's condition.
- Assists in maintaining patient records.
- Administers and documents medication under physician's order.
- Assists with clinic activities and initiatives.
- Confers with families, agencies, and pharmacies regarding patient care.
- Organizes exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and re-stocking of supplies.
- Provides medication education to patients regarding medication effects and side effects.
- Ensures all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patient's medical record prior to their appointment.
