POSITION OVERVIEW


The HR Assistant is responsible for performing HR-related duties for designated clients and will work closely with the Human Resources Manager.

They will serve as a first point of contact for employees for tier 1 level support for many HR functional areas, including:
employment, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits, labor compliance, and personnel file management.

In this role, the successful Human Resource Assistant will provide excellent customer service to our employees and help with issue resolution in a timely manner, working in partnership with other members of the HR department as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicates professionally with employees and clients at all levels, understanding the specific needs of those in question and implementing solutions where applicable.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and provide support for employees regarding all HR topics, including: verifications of employment; employee job requirements (including certifications); general compensation, benefits and payroll inquiries; general paid time off and policy questions.
  • Prepares and maintains employee personnel files and documentation.
  • Manages data entry into HRIS, substitute management systems and other additional data programs.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local labor compliance standards. Applies HR policies and procedures where necessary.
  • Process unemployment notices and other required statements as received.
  • Troubleshoots technical support for employees in some programs but also escalates for further tier two support as needed.
  • Identifies potential risks and escalates issues to the business partners or director when applicable.
  • All other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities

  • Excellent computer skills and strong experience with Google platforms; Google Docs, Gmail, etc.
  • Flexibility in managing multiple priorities and delivering initiatives in a timely and concise manner.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Certifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Customer service experience
  • Demonstrated experience with managing multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Workspace

BACKGROUND CHECKS

  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • If employed in Arizona, must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card. If employed in other states, must hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or state equivalent, as specified by the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel between campuses may be required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
