This is what you will do:

The Director of Patient Services Strategy will lead the strategic development, implementation, and ongoing management of key initiatives across all aspects of patient services for Neurofibromatosis Type 1 and future META+ franchise additions.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that Alexion is providing best in class support to our patients throughout their therapeutic journey.

This role will work with all levels of Patient Services and many cross functional partners including patient education managers, brand marketing, field sales, market access, patient advocacy to understand patient needs, develop appropriate strategies, and manage the tactics that come from these strategies.


You will be responsible for:


  • Driving the overarching strategy for Alexion's Patient Services Programs, including the purpose, design, approval, and implementation of key initiatives that will positively impact and drive a successful patient journey.
  • Prioritizing and allocating resources strategically across patient support programming to best meet the needs of patients.
  • Strategically aligning key collaborators involved in a successful patient journey to include case managers, patient education managers and support contracted through specialty pharmacy enhanced services.
  • Overseeing the development of metric design and utilization of KPIs to evaluate program performance and efficiency.
  • Utilizing data to analyze business performance and update strategies as needed.
  • Partnering with OneSource marketing and the brand marketing in developing the patient engagement strategy and supporting launch planning for future Metabolic products and indications
  • Partnering crossfunctionally to develop and implement new initiatives including material design and approval, training plans, and communication strategy.
  • Leading patient services colleagues on program feedback and design for needed updates to existing programs and tactics.
  • Partnering with marketing on messaging, form creation, website updates, etc.
  • Partnering with patient advocacy to understand patient needs

You will need to have:


  • B.A. / B.S. Degree is required
  • 7+ years health care industry experience or pharmaceutical experience
  • Strong understanding of patient program development and implementation
  • Extensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Established standard of excellence for independent personal performance
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage and execute complex projects independently
  • Ability to partner, build relationships and influence decision making within multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage and influence on multiple organizational levels
  • Manage complexity, think strategically, and understand details
  • Excellent partnering skills and demonstrate ability to negotiate effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an officebased role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and nonlinear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • MBA or other related advanced degree
  • Indepth knowledge and current expertise with HIPAA, OIG, CMS, privacy, and regulatory statutes
  • Experienced vendor management skills
