JOB SUMMARY:
Through classroom and on-the-job training (OJT), learns and applies fundamentals of Plumbing trade.

REQUIREMENTS:

Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must be flexible with schedule.
Reliable transportation

- go to sites in DC, VA, and MD.

01 years of prior experience as a laborer, skilled laborer, helper, or in another related trade.
Satisfactory background check and initial/random drug tests.
Dependable and reliable.
Works well with team, including other trades.
Inquisitive: wants to learn; asks questions.
Communicates effectively in English.
Able to lift five to fifty pounds (550lbs), with or without assistance, frequently.
Able to sit, stand, bend, walk, climb, and remain in static positions for duration of shift.
Able to withstand exposure to heights, tight/confined spaces; work in dusty areas; work in temperature extremes; be exposed to external elements (wind, rain, snow, etc).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend apprentice classes in trade and maintains OJT logs.
Work under immediate supervision of Master/Journey worker, Leadman, or Foreman to assemble/complete work.
Learn appropriate Plumbing code.
Learn how to read blue prints, and uses to install Plumbing systems.
Assemble work laid out by Journey/Master worker.
Learn how to cut and thread up to 2" pipe; sweat and solder pipe; tackweld steel pipe; cut steel pipe with torch.
Learn plumbing techniques.
Learn about specifications.
Learn the mechanics and principles of Plumbing.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Perform arithmetic calculations (add/subtract/multiply/divide, including fractions and decimals)
Any other duties requested by Supervisor.
