    This position is based in the U.S. and requires U.S. citizenship for eligibility. Work must be done within the continental U.S.

    Who we are:

    Raft is a customer-focused small business with a focus on Distributed Data Systems and Platform Development, located in Reston, VA. We work with federal agencies to create impactful digital solutions.

    We're seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer to join our team.

    About the role:

    As a Staff AI/ML Engineer, you will work with a diverse team to develop Machine Learning models for our customers.

    What we are looking for:

    • 2-3 years of hands-on experience
    • Experience with Machine Learning models (preferably PyTorch)
    • Passion for innovation and working in interdisciplinary teams
    • Experience with Data Processing frameworks like Apache Spark
    • Strong programming skills in Python
    • Good communication and presentation skills
    • Experience with modern software development practices
    • Obtain Security+ certification within the first 90 days

    Highly preferred:

    • Experience with unmanned systems technologies
    • Experience with sensor, time-series, and geospatial data
    • Publications or projects showcasing skills
    • Experience with Kubernetes

    Clearance Requirements:

    • Active Secret clearance, ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance

    Work Type:

    • Remote position
    • Up to 20% travel may be required

    Salary Range:

    • $140,000 - $225,000
    • Compensation based on experience and abilities
