FLSA Status:
Hourly / Non-Exempt; Part-Time (10am to 3:30pm M-F; flexible).


Reports to:
Director of Sourcing


Base pay rate:
$18.00 per hour (starting)

Job Summary:

The Material Handler will safely operate various machines and equipment involved in inventory management of manufacturing materials and finished goods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operates machinery in accordance with specifications and directions. Assigned machines may include cardboard bailers, forklifts, and similar equipment
• Be able to manually sort inbound manufacturing material (i.e., cardboard) by identifying usable and unusable supply and handling accordingly
• Be knowledgeable and skilled to work in multiple areas of the material handling process
• Process the required quantity of materials within established specifications and tolerances
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments when possible and escalates to leadership and/or maintenance for support
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work area
• Participate in continuous improvement conversations around safety, productivity, and environment
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
• Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
• Demonstrated cando, willdo approach
• Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required for safety
