    Description
    BUILD, Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed, self-motivated, and innovative individual to join our team. BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention, violence prevention, and youth development organization based on Chicago's West Side.

    The College & Career Pathways Coordinator (CCPC) exposes and connects youth to college and career pathways, ultimately resulting in enrollment into college, trade school, or a workforce program and increased youth employability and graduation and program completion rates.

    The CCPC equips youth with skills that prepare them for academic, professional, and personal achievement.

    Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for implementing four critical components of successful case management:

    intake, needs assessment, service planning and monitoring and evaluation through relationship and trust building, advocacy, evidence-based best practices, and youth empowerment.

    The College & Career Coordinator reports directly to the College & Career Manager.

    Responsibilities include :
    Identify and recruit participants for the core group; generate and maintain intakes and assessments for each member.

    Plan, prepare and deliver curriculum and instructional materials focusing on academic success, career, and life skills development, and financial literacy that facilitate active learning.

    Execute BUILD's youth employment program objectives, services, data compliance, expense tracking, and evaluation.
    Support BUILD's scholarship program recipients through academic, career, and personal advising. In-person campus visits may be required.

    Coordinate college and career opportunities such as college and FAFSA application completion, career fairs/conferences, internships, job shadowing, and workshops/information sessions for youth and parents.

    Administer career, personality, and leadership assessments such as O*Net Interest Profiler to help youth identify career interests.

    Assist youth in identifying long-term educational and personal goals and developing career plans, including course selection, goal setting, academic improvement, and exposure to STEM and other career/workforce development opportunities.

    Aid youth in securing financial assistance through grants, scholarships, internships, assistantships, etc.

    Monitor youth academic progress, assist with SAP appeals if necessary, and gather and provide educational resources such as tutoring, placement exams, and standardized testing preparation.

    Deliver unbiased professional assistance to students and parents with the college, trade school, or workforce development program selection and application processes.

    Keep up with industry best practices to ensure youth are prepared and meet program enrollment requirements and deadlines.
    Equip youth with practical resume writing, job searching, interviewing, and networking skills.

    Facilitate workshops designed to enhance youth soft and hard skills in professionalism, time management, communication etiquette, growth mindset, and organizational skills.

    Provide youth entering college or struggling academically with effective studying and notetaking techniques, test-taking strategies, and other critical college navigation tips.

    Empower youth to self-advocate by teaching them practical communication skills and how to research and access resources and opportunities.
    Create an environment fostering holistic youth development through exposure to cultural enrichment and mental health programs/resources.
    Work collaboratively with agency staff to recruit, plan, and implement program activities and services.
    Allocate resources towards achieving program objectives and submit all necessary documentation for credit and check request purchases.
    Generate youth participation invoices and collect and submit proper documentation for program stipends.
    Collect baseline and year-end academic, interpersonal, and social behavior data.
    Conduct student surveys and assessments for academic, professional, and programmatic evaluation purposes.
    Submit curriculum, statistics, and reports to the Program Manager as required.
    Maintain information database and filing system that tracks program activities and participant records.
    Maintain confidentiality of information according to HIPPA and FERPA privacy laws.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Requirements Bachelor's degree RequiredAt least two (2) years of experience working with youth from historically underserved populations.
    Experience with curriculum design and facilitation.
    Experience with Microsoft 365. Highly organized to set priorities, execute program objectives, and monitor progress toward program and departmental goals.
    Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
    Ability to build positive working relationships with BUILD's internal and external stakeholders.
    Practical resource management skills.
    Availability to work evening and weekend hours and travel for overnight college visits, tours, and professional development conferences.

    (Monday throuhg Friday:

    10am - 6pm or 11am - 7pm)Must pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
    Must have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally.
