In this role you will:

  • Design, synthesize, and evaluate nextgeneration electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion to valueadded chemicals and for water splitting using chemical and physical synthesis techniques combined with halfcell electrochemical methods, such as rotating disk electrode and Hcell, as well as fullcell electrolyzers
  • Perform catalyst structural characterization using conventional analyses such as XRD, BET, XFS, SEM, TEM, as well as the advanced characterization tools such as Xray absorption and scattering methods
  • Work closely with modeling and simulation team in catalyst/electrolyzer system engineering and optimization
  • Design, synthesize and test new materials to improve fundamental understanding of the dischargecharge processes for the nextgeneration batteries
  • Prepare reports and oral presentations on project progress
Position Requirements- Knowledge of and experimental expertise in synthesis and characterization of electrocatalysts for the CO2 reduction reaction and oxygen evolution and reduction reactions- Knowledge of and experimental expertise in evaluating electrocatalysts using RDE, RRDE, H-cell methods, as well as testing in a full electrolyzer- Knowledge of and experimental expertise in TEM and synchrotron X-ray based catalyst structure characterization techniques- Excellent written and oral communication skills with internal team and external sponsors- Knowledge of synthesis and preparation of structured porous materials such as metal-organic framework and/or porous organic polymers is a plusJob Family
