Mueller Landscape Inc, a distinguished leader in garden and landscape maintenance in San Diego County, is seeking a proactive and adaptable Floating Crew Leader.

In this role, you will step into various teams as needed, providing leadership and continuity to ensure the highest standards of landscape maintenance across multiple sites.

(Step in as lead when crew lead is absent)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Safety & Compliance: Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment for all team members.

Versatile Leadership: Seamlessly integrate with different crews, adapting leadership styles to meet the unique needs of each team and project.

Advanced Problem Identification & Resolution: Quickly identify and address landscaping issues, recommending practical solutions to maintain plant health and aesthetic standards.

Client & Team Communication:Act as a liaison between the clients, crew members, and the home office, facilitating clear and effective communication to align expectations and project outcomes.

Equipment & Materials Management:Ensure all tools and materials are utilized correctly, maintained, and accounted for across different job sites.

Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest quality standards in all tasks and interactions, ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.

Development & Training:Mentor crew members, especially in transitioning helpers towards more responsible roles, enhancing their skills and preparing them for future advancement within the company.

Enhanced Garden & Landscape Maintenance: Perform critical maintenance tasks across various sites, including planting, pruning, weeding, and general upkeep, ensuring Mueller's high standards are consistently met.

Tree Trimming: Monitor the health and aesthetics of trees and coordinate with the office for necessary trimming.

Irrigation Oversight:Monitor and adjust watering systems to optimize plant health, reporting any malfunctions or inefficiencies to the home office for rapid resolution.

This role serves as a Crew Leader whenever they are absent.

Must be able to function as a helper when not acting as a Crew Lead._**- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in garden and landscape maintenance with leadership responsibilities.


  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Coachable: Receptive to feedback and able to utilize new learning.
  • Horticultural Knowledge: Wellversed in plant care, irrigation systems, and horticultural practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying and resolving landscaperelated issues promptly.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with both team members and clients.
  • Organizational Skills: Able to manage time and resources effectively for optimal workflow.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be capable of performing physical labor in various weather conditions.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
