Description

The Helm Truck and Equipment division is looking for a vehicle/equipment service technician for our facility in Freeport, IL. The service technician is responsible for making repairs to all types of vehicles and construction equipment with mínimal assistance.

Technicians work on various automotive systems such as diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and brakes for vehicle types from service trucks (mostly Chevy Silverados), medium sized equipment such as Gehl Skid Steers, and up to Semis and Heavy Equipment such as dump trucks and excavator machines.

This includes achieving service department goals, profitability, employee and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for making repairs to all types of vehicles with mínimal assistance.
Have complete and good communication with Service Manager and Foreman.
Input to Foreman on shop tooling needs.
Flexible start and stop times of workday to meet shop and customer needs.
All documentation required to complete repair orders.
Maintain knowledge level on changes in the vehicle repair industry.
Complete training as assigned by Service Manager and Foreman.
Loss/Gain on repairs made.
Safety Record.
Customer Satisfaction.
Ability to obtain certifications in other fields.

People skills necessary to interact in positive way with parts department team and customers.
