***: The Admissions person meets with each patient to gather appropriate information pertinent to their health and nature of their visit; and enters corresponding data into EHR. When applicable, this person presents the Vision Today Program to the patient and educates them on their specific focal points. This position is highly patient-focused and requires an individual who demonstrates a personal commitment to identifying patients' needs and continually seeks to provide the highest quality service to all patients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Efficiently process patients by collecting/verifying health history, medications, and current refraction/CL. If applicable, process Web Registration and confirm accuracy of data during patient's visit. Verify chart documentation and accurately enter information into appropriate EHR layout.
  • Inform patients of current promotions.
  • Monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays
  • Educate patients on Focal Points chosen from Vision Today Program (if applicable) and provide Program report to Office Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare for patient appointments by reviewing their Vision Today selection (if applicable).
  • Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous medical office experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):


  • Physical Activity: Talking, Hearing.
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT:


  • Staff members are required to meet training expectations within the initial 90day orientation period. This training includes instructional sessions on medical coding/billing, mechanical equipment, optical math, optical physics, and jobspecific responsibilities, along with education on basic optical terminology and ocular diseases.
  • Obtaining certification in optometric field is encouraged. MWEC will provide assistance to all employees eligible for the Employee Career Development Program.
