Description

Position Summary: This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and documenting electrical systems for microgrids, mobile power generation, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. You might also get your hands dirty with on-site commissioning and troubleshooting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and review medium/low voltage electrical power generation, distribution, and microgrid systems
Prepare various electrical documentation utilizing software like ETAP/SKM for Short Circuit, Arc Flash, Coordination, Power System, Grounding, Load Flow, Harmonics, Fault studies, and Transient studies
Create additional documentation such as area classifications, drawings, reports, single line diagrams, electrical BOMs, and reports related to electrical system studies
Develop and manage technical documentation for electrical systems
Offer engineering support to other departments as required

Educational and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of total experience
At least 8 years of experience in medium voltage power generation system design (including distribution line design)
Minimum 5 years of experience conducting electrical studies with ETAP/SKM
Thorough understanding of applications, electrical codes, and standards like IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, etc.
Familiarity with Power Generation Controls and Automation
Background in programming Digital Multifunction Relays
Experience in creating relay logic, electrical protection, and coordination schemes
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Openness to acquiring new technologies and skills
Adaptability to evolving technologies and industry trends

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Master's degree in a related field
Hands-on experience with electrical systems design in the oil and gas and/or mining sectors
Knowledge of Embedded C, Structured Text, Function Block, and PLC programming practices
