    Position: Electrical Engineer

    Location: Houston, TX

    Compensation: Competitive, Based on Experience

    Wide Effect has partnered with a dredging company looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their Houston, TX team. This role offers the opportunity for varied and challenging work, encompassing a broad range of activities in engineering and electrical needs across multiple project sites.

    Office/Field responsibilities:

    • Design, control, and implement electrical systems: Oversee both new and existing fleet equipment.
    • Proposal and Documentation: Prepare and manage proposals, drawings, and inquiries to meet project and equipment needs.
    • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to fulfill electrical system design requirements.
    • Project Upgrades: Execute project proposals including pricing, specifications, and single-line drawings.
    • Regulatory Approvals: Coordinate with relevant regulatory bodies for electrical system approvals.
    • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with other departments such as mechanical engineering, maintenance, and IT on joint projects.
    • Site Visits: Responsible for traveling to various project locations across the USA.
    • Document Management: Maintain accurate copies of all relevant drawings and software.
    • On-Call Duties: Available for on-call work during both regular and off-hours.
    • Quality Control: Conduct repair and quality control of electrical equipment.
    • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safe and compliant working procedures.
    • Leadership: Provide technical leadership to team members and contractors.

    Requirements:

    • BS in Electrical Engineering
    • 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience; track record of achievement and advancement.
    • Demonstrated expertise in Electrical Engineering.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Experience in the marine industry is preferred.
    • Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
    • Proficiency in drawing design software (i.e., AutoCAD, Eplan) and calculation software (i.e., Easy Power).
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% to job sites.
    • Availability for on-call work during off-hours as needed.
