MAIN FUNCTION:
To perform non-emergency transport and personal care tasks related to transport related care of the aged or infirmed individual (client).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in transporting clients to their respective appointments or destinations requested in a safe and timely manner
- Ensure preassigned routes are maintained with accurate pickup and dropoff locations ahead of time
- Provide nonemergency transport with ability to:
- Provide safe and reliable transportation to client(s)
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and client(s)
- Secure client's wheel chairs correctly using provided equipment, as necessary
- Complete thorough vehicle pretrip, posttrip inspections, as required
- Obey and comply with traffic regulations
- Maintain and keep the transportation vehicle clean
- Complete paperwork as required and utilize tablets or electronic device as required
- Ensures that the rights of the client are maintained.
- Reports to work and works as scheduled and assigned by the client and supervisor.
- Reports to the Coordinator at the office in advance of changes to the schedule or absence from work.
- Attends/completes trainings, staff conferences and inservice meetings as scheduled.
- Represents the Agency in a loyal manner and dresses in appropriate clothing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a valid driver's license with no major traffic violations including suspensions, DUI and DWI
- Must pass criminal background screening
- Must pass drug screening, per policy requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Able to work as scheduled and report to work timely
- Willingness to travel
- Able to drive for long periods of time
- Friendly, fun, and professional
- Familiar with smartphones & GPS
- 24/7 Availability for transportation in service area
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Able to work in various and stressful environments.
- Able to relate well with clients and families.
- Able to work as scheduled and report to work precisely at the scheduled time.
- Able to drive up to 300 miles daily.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Able to push and pull up to 100 pounds.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Able to analyze and handle emergency situations.
- Able to manage time wisely and complete tasks daily.
- Able to understand and follow universal precautions.
- Able to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- To maintain full time, minimum of 36 hours per week
