    Description

    Position Overview:

    Come aboard as a Food Prep and Cook to whip up delectable dishes tailored to our guests' palates. Your role involves upholding the company's mission and values by delivering unparalleled entertainment and abiding by the Canterbury Way through a focus on our core principles.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Set a leading example.
    • Maintain a high standard of hospitality, always sporting a positive and professional attitude.
    • Foster team spirit and collaboration while offering suggestions for growth to management.
    • Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers.
    • Ensure food freshness, rotation, and safety.
    • Keep the kitchen clean and sanitary, including equipment upkeep and general cleaning tasks.
    • Establish product levels per shift for necessary preparation.
    • Aid in creating prep lists, recipes, and product specifications for the team.
    • Handle menu production for banquets, bulk orders, and a la carte services.
    • Monitor and manage ingredient and supply inventory levels to avoid shortages.
    • May involve cooking in front of audiences for banquets, requiring clean uniforms and stations.
    • Execute other assigned tasks.
    Requirements:
    • Minimum age of 18 years old.
    • At least 1 year of culinary experience with fish/meat preparation.
    • Effective verbal communication skills.
    • Self-driven and reliable.
    • Capable of multitasking with keen attention to detail.
    • Flexible availability.
    • All roles at Canterbury Park are subject to pre-employment checks, including background screenings and work history verification.
    • Must be eligible for a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
    Working Environment and General Expectations:
    • Need to have a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • This position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting of 30-50 pounds.
    • Proficient in using knives and working in close quarters with colleagues and industrial equipment.
    • Ability to read orders, follow instructions, and collaborate with team members for efficient food delivery.

    • Prepare for a fast-paced and high-stress environment with high temperatures, bustling crowds, and noisy conditions.
