Location/Division Specific Information:

Our Recombinant Proteins (REP) Business Unit in Cranbury, NJ is part of our Biosciences Division.

REP unites deep scientific expertise with a collaborative culture to build a product portfolio that includes cytokines, growth factors, antibodies and ELISA kits used to support the research of our academic, government, biotech, and pharmaceutical customers.

The Fulfillment and Shipping specialist is responsible for the proper handling, packaging, and shipping of materials.

In this role, you will specialize in large quantity international shipments, ensuring proper filing of paperwork as well as compliance documents.

Our customers count on you to handle your tasks in accordance with all quality and safety regulations and requirements, actively problem-solve with co-workers, and communicate clearly with shipping vendors so that their products arrive as expected.


A Day in the Life:


  • Prepare product(s) for shipment in accordance with proper labelling and packaging preparation.
  • Verify that orders to be shipped are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities against shipping documents, check to ensure shipments are properly packaged, labelled and documented.
  • Prepare Electronic Export Information (EEI).
  • Prepare Commercial Invoices.
  • Prepare and file copies of shipping records.
  • Perform proper material handling and storage in a manner that ensures "First In First Out".
  • Pull products for lab and inhouse use.
  • Learn to handle and use a handheld barcode scanner.
  • Follow procedure for using equipment in work areas and warehouse.
  • Follow the GMP Fulfillment Process.
  • Order shipping supplies from Fed Ex, UPS, and DHL.
  • Stay current on all Order Fulfillment & Shipping procedures.
  • Productively problemsolve with coworkers.
  • Effectively perform all packaging and shipping duties.
  • Follow ISO 9001 and GMP guidelines, where applicable.
  • Demonstrate and drive the Thermo Fisher values

Keys to Success:


Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree preferred.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 12 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the life sciences industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience with FedEx Ship Manager a plus.
  • Experience with International Shipping is a plus.

Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities**:


  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills, including handling conflict.
  • Highly selfmotivated.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability of working without direct supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail, and ability to detect errors and inconsistencies in various types of documents.
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform tasks.
  • Knowledge of Global Trade Compliance.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the use and importance of HTS Codes.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Export Information (EEI).
