JOB SUMMARY:


Provides administrative support to the Office of the County Judge, with a focus on ensuring an effective and accurate Commissioners Court Agenda and document processing.

Participates in development of programs, policies and objectives for own work group and department.


Responsibilities:


  • Assists in the preparation of the Commissioner's Court Agenda.
  • Assists the Project Manager
  • Grants in the internal and external processing of grants through respective agencies.
  • Tracks and routes original documents from Commissioner's Court, analyzing documents for any errors or required next step, including appropriate signatures and filings.
  • Studies and understands the agenda preparation software, performs administrative duties within the software, and addresses employee issues with the software and/or agenda process.
  • Assists in the improvement of the agenda process by providing input and suggestion.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to Office of the County Judge.
  • Responds to citizen's questions and complaints; resolves or refers to appropriate person; responds to correspondence and telephone calls or refers to appropriate person.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 5 years general office experience; paralegal or clerical experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint and AdobePro software skills.
  • Strong reading, reasoning and comprehension skills as well as good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, elected officials and other employees.
  • Bilingual preferred, not required.

SALARY RANGE:
Beginning $65,000. per year
