    This position is located in the Mental Health Services Department at the Veterans Home of California-West Los Angeles.

    Training and Development, and/or Temporary Authorization Appointment (TAU) appointments may be considered for this vacancy, and such appointments may become permanent provided the selected candidate obtains a reachable rank on the associated examination.

    Successful completion of a live scan and a pre-employment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.


    Applicant must possess a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology and an earned Doctorate Degree in Psychology for an educational institution meeting the criteria of the medical board of California's Section 2914 of the Business and Professions Code.

    If your eligibility requires that you meet the Minimum Qualifications of the class and you qualify under pattern requiring education, then the selected candidate will be required to provide college transcripts prior to appointment.

    Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available).

    SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply.

    Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s). Temporary Appointments may be considered if conditions warrant. Temporary Appointments may be made to anyone regardless of eligibility.

    Temporary Appointments may not exceed 9 months and will require eligibility to be obtained through an examination process in order to transition to a permanent appointment.
