    Description
    Job Summary

    The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for utilizing multiple sources of data to report findings and trends in demand, capacity, costs, inventory levels and other KPIs. The Purchasing Analyst will create spreadsheets, dashboards and other tools so the management team can efficiently create and execute strategies to drive growth and productivity for the Procurement and PMT team. Once data trends are identified, findings will be effectively communicated to others in the organization.Additionally, this role is responsible for being an active member of multiple project teams and must be able to assist in project management activities.

    Key Departmental Responsibilities

    1. Data Analytics:
    • Gather data for PMT/Purchasing Presentations as requested
    • Refresh WOW inventory data for reporting
    • Update KPI metrics for PMTs and Purchasing
    • Maintain Vendor Catalog
    • Support Commodity team projects for sourcing with
    • Ad hoc reporting
    • Maintain open communication on project status.
    • Work cross functionality with other teams across Alliant Power
    • Other projects, as needed
    .Important analyst skills to master include:
    • Business analysis, Critical-thinking and problem-solving
    • Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
    Skills & Qualifications

    3+ years working in technology or distribution operations-purchasing, inventory, warehouse. Must be an organized, fast-learner that is curious and driven by continuous improvement. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to solve problems.Must be able to work with technical and non-technical co-workers. Lean or Green Belt Six Sigma certification a plus.Must have expert-level skills in Excel.
