    HealthRIGHT 360/North County Serenity House (NCSH) is seeking Substance Use Counselors/Case Managers for residential programs in Escondido. We offer residential treatment services designed to serve individuals and families with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our program helps clients address addiction and related issues, increase skills, manage stressors, connect to supportive service, and build a foundation for lasting recovery.

    HealthRIGHT 360/North County Serenity House (NCSH) is seeking Substance Use Counselors/Case Managers for residential programs in Escondido. We offer residential treatment services designed to serve individuals and families with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our program helps clients address addiction and related issues, increase skills, manage stressors, connect to supportive service, and build a foundation for lasting recovery.

    OVERVIEW

  • This is a union position onsite in Escondido, CA
  • The Substance Use Counselor works as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary treatment team including therapists, medical technicians and LVNs
  • Residential programs run 24/7 with individual and group therapy, family therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, medication support services, and crisis intervention
    • RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Maintain an assigned caseload of clients seeking substance use treatment and mental health treatment
  • Conduct face-to-face assessments, individual counseling sessions, and progress reviews with each client
  • Utilize principles of trauma-informed care and maintain a safe and gender responsive program environment
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery, trauma recovery, addressing mental health symptoms, and other personal change topics
  • Proactively link clients with available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of each caseload client
    • REQUIREMENTS
  • Registration or Certification with drug and alcohol counseling organization recognized by DHCS.
  • Experience in a substance abuse treatment or community mental health setting
  • Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population
  • Experience or willingness to work successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferred
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends, preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications
  • First Aid and CPR certified within 30 days of employment as part of onboarding
  • In compliance with the California Department of Public Health's mandate, all employees must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination--medical and religious exemptions are available with twice weekly testing

    North County Serenity House, A Program of HealthRIGHT 360 was founded in 1966 to provide substance use disorder services in the community. North County Serenity House provides a gender-responsive and trauma-informed environment, using evidence-based and best practices that recognize and account for the role that trauma frequently plays in substance use and criminal histories of women. For clients with co-occurring mental illness, we provide integrated substance use and mental health services which treat both conditions as primary. Our residential facility serves up to 120 women (with capacity for up to 20 children under 5 years of age) seeking recovery from substance use disorders.
